Bestowal dialogue

'This problem of Mazog has been weighing heavily on my mind. While it is our duty to defend the miners and retake what we can, I do not think we can afford the grave risk of a direct offensive against them yet.

'Nor yet do I think we can sit back and do nothing -- if they realized how few of us there really are, they would swiftly press to drive us back. I think we must keep them off balance with some smaller attacks to force them to concern themselves with defence, not offence.

'Are you prepared to make a few sallies against them, <name>? If you can inflict some losses and make it seem that we might strike in force at any time, then I think they can be held at bay for a while, given the cowardly nature of goblins.'

Background

With the revelation that Mazog is supporting the goblins in the Silvertine Lodes, Thalfar is worried about the dwarves' ability to defend the miners and support their position. He can't afford to launch a true offensive against the goblins, but wants to keep them off balance.

Objective 1

Goblins can be found in the Silvertine Lodes.

Thalfar has asked you to thin the numbers of the goblins in the Silvertine Lodes to keep them off balance and prevent them from mustering a direct attack against the expedition at Deep Descent.

Objective 2

Thalfar can be found at the Deep Descent expedition at the northern edge of the Silvertine Lodes.

You should return to Thalfar and tell him of your battles against the goblins of the Silvertine Lodes.

Thalfar: 'Thank you, <name>. With the losses you have inflicted, the goblins will likely shy from any direct attack upon us here, thinking that our forces are much greater than they truly are.
'The ruse will not last forever though, and if this Mazog fellow ever drives his forces west against us, we shall surely have to quit this place - if we can....'
