Walkthrough & Notes

This is a DPS race to kill the defilers as quickly as possible. The darkwaters will move quickly until they reach the edge of the pond, where they will move at a much slower pace, making them easier to manage. You lose no merit from the darkwaters being summoned, only from them escaping. So while you have to keep dpsing the defilers the priority is to make sure the darkwaters die when they appear. They also have about 1/3rd as many hps as the defilers. There is a rock in the middle of the pond that can be climbed up onto from the back. This is an excellent position for a ranged dps. While you can set up a catapult or ballista beforehand they are only useful if you know exactly where to aim them before the defilers appear. Otherwise the defilers are too spread out to effectively fight with siege weapons vs. your normal fighting abilities. You can try and set up barricades to slow the darkwaters down but generally this is not needed.

Background Orc Defilers have begun calling forth the turbulent spirits of those unfortunate enough to have perished within the Deep at battles long past. If they are allowed to continue their summons, the Rohirrim in the water mil may find themselves besieged by a rather unexpected adversary. Objective Defeat the Orc Defilers at the mill pond (0/8) Do not allow darkwater spirits to enter the mill (0/6) White Hand Defilers have gathered around the pond in the Deeping Coomb and are attempting to call forth disturbed spirits to assail the Rohirrim. Defeating the Defilers will end the foul ritual, but the spirits will need to be dealt with once they have been called forth. Merit Rating This quest starts with Full Merit Rating.
