Walkthrough & Notes

Rípmaush (an Elite with 105,444 morale and 6,600 power) and his four minions (each with 23,432 morale and 3,485 power) are inside the Marton Mead Hall. There are three other Orcs inside the mead hall, two Isengard Invaders and an Isengard Archer; two of them can be fought near the door without triggering Rípmaush's group. It is possible to pull Rípmaush's group without triggering the third Orc, if you stand next to the fire on the right and use a ranged attack. This quest is indeed auto triggered but you need to do Quest:The Westfold: To the King's Aid till Quest:Searching for Erkenbrand. The latter leads you to Marton. If you are looking for the trait point quest chain, this quest (Marton's New Thane) does not need to be done.

Objective 1 Challenge: Dethrone Thane Rípmaush Rípmaush can be found in the Mead Hall of Marton, sitting upon the Thane's chair and surrounded by his minions. You should dethrone Rípmaush, the false Thane. Objective 2 Completed Rípmaush has been removed from the Thane's chair of Marton's Mead Hall.
