Dath Lum, the Shadow-pit is the residence of Balchneth, the first boss in Eithel Gwaur. When the boss is defeated, a Vine appears, which can be used to ascend from the pit.
Dath Lum is located in the middle of the instance, with converging paths before, and diverging paths beyond. In the course of the instance, Rauniel introduces Dath Lum, and explains that defeat of Balchneth is a prerequisite to advancing further.
The paths to the north and south of the pit itself have nozzles periodically shooting poison.
