Category talk:Swanfleet and Cardolan Deeds

Do we need a separate category for Cardolan deeds, and Swanfleet deeds only... so they can be used at the Cardolan and Swanfleet mainpages? Tiberivs (talk) 21:38, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

Yes, I would say so. It makes sense to have separate categories for them, for several reasons; one of which you mentioned.

If there is a need for this combined category as well, then those separate categories can easily be added to this one too, in that case. :)

Hmmm... I may have been a bit hasty in giving my opinion, as this seems to be a more complicated issue than I first thought. Since the game groups both together on the same tab in the Deed Log, we might need to get a bit more creative and think outside the box on this one. Maybe do it the opposite way, somehow? Play around with LST and/or DynamicPageList? I don't know.

Does anyone else have any thoughts, ideas, suggestions or other input on this topic as well?

yea thats my case, the main category should always reflect the actual deed log ingame. We could add the specific deed pages simply to an addition category. Take for instance Treasure of Cardolan, its added to the category 'Swanfleet and Cardolan Explorer Deeds' though the deed-stubtype in combi with the Regional-sub -> Explorer, as it should be. Additionally its also added to 'Dúnedain of Cardolan' -and 'Virtue Experience' Deeds through those additional parameters. We could simply create a new category: 'Deeds of Cardolan', add the deed itself manually below the deed template, and make the category part of the 'Swanfleet and Cardolan Deeds' main category.

Yes, I agree. Creating additional separate categories (with sub-categories) for the two regions, and then manually adding a tag at the bottom of each deed for the relevant regional (sub-)category, might be the best and easiest way to handle this. That way we stay true to the Deed Log in-game, and keep our auto-categorisation through deed parameters, but also match the formatting and structure we have for all other regions. So unless someone objects, let's do that then! :)
