Balchoth

The Balchoth were a group of chariot-riding Easterlings known for raiding Gondor in mid-late Third Age as part of the extended Easterling Wars.

After having overrun the realm of Calenardhon, Steward Cirion asked Eorl the Young and his Éothéod for aid. Eorl sent forth his army of 7000 horse-riders, and wiped the Balchoth out of the land. For this act, he was granted Calenardhon to live in, giving rise to the nation of Rohan.
