Great Improvements to Guides

I just wanted to say "Thanks!!!" for your great improvements to the style guide page. I started on it a while ago but was side-tracked but am happy to see your improvements, keep them coming.

For that particular page I think there are some parts that should be moved to the more on-topic pages. Feel free to move details to where they better belong and keep just enough of a summary to make the page useful. Please see the "diffs" found "recent changes" for some minor edits I made, I hope we agree on them 😉

For an MoS page, I think it should merely be a sectioned overview page, with each section providing a short overview, while each section links to its more specific page.

I also think that Template:Tips for New Editors and Template:Tools for Editors should be included in this merge/split process, the less we have duplicative material spread over many locations (which then require each to be individually edited/updated), the better.

I'm still looking around at the overall pages here to see how they are currently used/organised, before starting in to try to organise them into something more cohesive. - Skyhawk 06:25, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

Moving back to your talk page. We usually continue where we are and I will see you responded via the "Recent changes" link, or even better via the Recent discussions, in the left-hand column. (Tips)

I gather we are in perfect harmony on this matter. For many reason many similar pages have spawned, I think one or a few older editors found a pleasure in writing but less so in planning "what fits best where" 😛

To me there are a few "tracks" to cover for "a beginner's quick-start": policies and guidelines, tech primer, and design & good-looks. Some of them overlap a bit but not too much I think. However, when you see the need of some larger re-writes, please create a User:Skyhawk/Sandbox/Temp-page 1 for it and propose the changes there. You may create as many such pages you want.
