I'm not trying to be flip here, but I really have no idea what you are talking about. Can you give me some category names? or pages?

I haven't touched locations for ages (a couple days at least), nor emptied any geography category, and doing a quick look, don't see any that are empty. (Special:UnusedCategories)

The only thing I did for Geography was to add The Great River transclusion to the Rhovanion page.

Most recently, I have been emptying the "Epic Quest" top level category as everything there is (or should be) in one of the volume/book sub categories. The only "funky" one I hit was Category:Vol. II. Book 9 Quests which contained the Category: Mirkwood Landing Quests‎ which I separated out into their own separate sub-category with a new tranclusion about them.
