Rollback of Dunland Quests

Hi Clunacleena,
I want to explain why I rolled back your 5 edits to Dunland Quests.

While we are grateful that you try to improve that page, it certainly does not look great, you also broke a particular pattern. I am certain that "breach" was not intended, rather you didn't know why it looked like it did. So I will explain.

When laying out quest chains, i.e. quests that depend on each other, we have long since used a particular format of numbered and bullet lists. Numbered quests are easy to grasp, a higher number has a dependency on a lower number, usually that previous quest must be completed. But sometimes it is enough to have accepted the previous one. For example, quest 3 must be completed before you can accept quest 4, of those Dunland Quests.

Bullets means that all quests in the same group of bullets may be done in any order. For example, #2 has two bulleted quests which can be done in any order but before you can accept #3. The same is true for #5. And #6 is implicit, the instance is of course a bullet under the wrapper quest.

However, from Pren Gwydh and on I see the otherwise nice formatting does not look great. It is sometimes hard to make it look great but other times the editor is new. When it comes to Dunland Quests I am not sure all of those quests are true quest chains, meaning they all depend on each other in such long sequences. Perhaps the previous editors have been overzealous and connected the dots a bit too much. If that is the case the sequences should be broken down to display true dependencies. But I think you rather wanted to add the names of the quest-givers, right? Hence the roll-back. Maybe you can find another way to add the names, if those are needed at that page to begin with.

Again, I am glad to see your initiatives and I am sorry it took such a sudden turn. Feel free to join us at Discord (see the welcome box above), where you can ask for tips and advice. Keep up your great spirit and I hope we'll hear from you! — Zimoon 14:59, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
