Description
Physical Description: A snow-white beard, yet still hale and hearty in his advanced age. His physical appearance and clothing is more subtle than some other dwarves, and he often wears archivist robes or something of the kind. Lately he has taken a particular fondness for Moria Silver Dye in his clothing, in memory of the lost kingdom of Khazad-dûm and Durin the Deathless, the legacy of which he reveres.
Personality Description: Even in his old age, Sinord is very perceptive of his surroundings, with a sort of curiosity that's helped him through his years. Old age has not tempered his patience however, despite his greater wisdom in general. As a master of history and lore, Sinord prizes culture and heritage very much, and can be very cross if others don't take it seriously (or even mispronounce names). Still, he's always willing to offer a helping hand to others, and his compassion extends outside of his race, and to others in Middle-earth.
Bio
Sinord Loresearcher was born in T.A. 2768 in the Halls of Erebor, to Sinvar, a silversmith, and Hrís, a Rune-keeper (from a long line of Rune-keepers that date back to Khazad-dûm). Having fled with his family and the Exiles of Erebor from the Sack of Erebor at only 2 years of age, he later fought in the terrible Battle of Azanulbizar in T.A. 2799, where he lost his father to a vicious warg. One of his greatest friends and mentors during that time was Balin, son of Fundin, and the two remained close friends. His cataloguing of reflections that he kept during the campaign earned him the sobriquet: "Loresearcher". Sinord lived in Zudrugund for a time with Thráin's people, eventually settling in the Blue Mountains.
Marrying the cook Threda (who would sadly die in childbirth), the two had a daughter, Thrisa (who also became a celebrated Rune-keeper). They both would return to Erebor after the Battle of Five Armies, and Sinord later returned to Ered Luin to assist in Dwalin's Expedition, while Thrisa stayed behind in Erebor, aiding in the Battle of Dale. Sinord was a major participant in the War of the Ring, adventuring and aiding the Free Peoples in Eriador, Rhovanion, Rohan, Gondor, Mordor and Haradwaith, fighting in the battles of Helm's Deep, Pelennor Fields, and the Black Gate. In addition, after the war he also aided in the Mordor, Morgul, and Gundabad campaigns, and became a mentor figure to a young Prince Durin. Sinord and his daughter Thrisa reside in Binnîn-dûm, the Trove-hall, a large Ereborean mansion gifted by King Thorin III for his service to Durin's Folk, which stores many relics, artifacts, and other collections from the family's many travels.
