Project Overview
Moria received a comprehensive revamp with Update 7: Shades of the Past - May 14, 2012 and Update_9,_Against_the_Shadow_-_December_17,_2012.
Update 7 included Moria revamp I which affected the following areas:
- The Great Delving
- The Silvertine Lodes
- Durin’s Way
- Zirakzigil
- The Waterworks
- big quest arcs (Riddles & Mirrors)
Update 9 included Moria revamp II which affected the following areas:
- Zelem-melek
- The Redhorn Lodes
- The Flaming Deeps
- Nud-melek
- The Dimrill Dale
- The Foundations of Stone
The following major elements were changed in these updates:
- questing
- streamlining quest progressions to limit back and forth travel
- move away from traditional quest chains towards newer quest arcs
- new quest hub encampments in many areas to aid in quest streamlining
- renaming/reworking of many existing Moria quests
- replacing many other existing Moria quests with new different versions
- travel
- additional stable-master routes to new encampments
- new gated instant travel routes between really small quest hubs and nearby larger encampments
- mob densities
- much reduced to aid in faster travel within Moria
Project - Update Moria quest hub goat travel routes
Following Moria revamp II in Update 9, additional travel goats have been added in Moria in addition to the existing stablemaster system.
These goats connect very small remote quest hubs and specific nearby settlements. Using the goat works similar to travel skills (bar slowly fills followed by instant zone transition).
These goats usually have some quest prerequisite before they are usable and some of them are one-way travel to speed up a quest arc.
Examples:
- The Great Hall of Durin (Dómárr's camp) <-> Twenty-first Hall (2/3rds down the page for screenshot of one of these travel goats)
- Hall of Flowing Water <-> Twenty-first Hall

- Update settlement pages with these new travel routes
- Try and determine exact prerequisites for each and if they are one-way or two-way travel
Project - update Moria settlements
The revamps added several new dwarf settlements and moved quest NPCs around between them.
Examples:
- The Fanged Pit camp in Durin's Way
- The Tharâkh Bazân camp in Durin's Way

Project - update Moria quests
The Moria quests received some of the biggest changes in the revamp (at least in terms of pages on lotro-wiki). Some quests were left alone, others had their rewards altered, others were made obsolete and removed from in-game, others had their objectives changed, and finally some new quests were created to replace some of the now obsolete ones.
In addition to the above, Moria revamp II started to make use of the new auto-bestowed quest mechanism for the later Moria areas.
Only way to update this content is to play through it with fresh characters to track new progressions, taking lots of screenshots and tracking quest progressions in some paper notes.
To-do

go back through completed quest log and check for quest chain names
- for each major area of Moria (The Great Delving, Durin's Way, etc) create the following 3 pages:
- Category page for quest log heading
- Category page for geographic starting location
- regular page showing progression relationship between quests in that area
- go down the quest progression page, creating or updating quests with currently accurate objectives, dialog, and rewards
- Update quest reward pages with currently accurate stats
- Update NPC pages with updated quest involvement info
- mark any remaining quests for the area as obsolete and include what quest replaced them (if any)

Project - update Moria quest chains
This project is closely related to the general quest update above.
With the move from traditional named quest chains to newer unnamed quest arcs, many of the Moria quest chain pages need updating.
Many existing quest chains have had several of their quests removed from the game, breaking up the progression. The remaining quests have either been compacted, or have been included in other new unnamed quest arcs (while still showing the old quest chain name in the quest log entry).
As a result, a quest can now potentially be a member of 2 quest chains (an older mostly defunct named quest chain, and a newer unnamed quest arc).
To-do
- edit old existing quest chain pages
- remove now obsolete quests
- add notes if needed to indicate quests no longer completed in order
- create new quest arc pages as needed
- only include the core quests in the arc
- reference appropriate Moria area quest progression page for any optional side quests
- make sure relevant quests are updated to included necessary quest chain links
