Birth
Tarlantir was born to a Dúnedain father and an Elvish mother. His father's name was Tar-Érestil and he was a Dúnedain ranger-captain under Arathorn II. His mother was a beautiful Elf-maiden who lived in Rivendell until she met Tar-Érestil. Tarlantir was born to them on the 17th of November in the year T.A. 2934 just one year after his future chieftain Aragorn II.
Childhood
His childhood was chaotic, his father asked permission to leave duty from his chieftain Arathorn II and his parents moved to the southern fiefs of Gondor sometime after he was born. In Gondor he grew up to be a son that his parents could be proud of, excelling in school, strength and wits. He had many friends who saw him as the leader of their friend group, foreshadowing his future profession even in his adolescent years. Seldom he would command someone in the group to do something and these commands would be followed always.
Adolescence
At the age of 16 he had his first encounter with Orcs and with it also his first sorrow, his mother was killed during an Orc raid. This event left a great scar on the young Tarlantir who was shocked by this great loss. During the mourning period Tarlantir came to understand that the world, vast and beautiful as it was could be a hard place. His mother's passing had made sure of that. Despite coping quite admirably with his mother's death, the event evoked a great sense of wrath and hate for Orc-kind in him. His parents had mostly shielded him from the harsh world and its comings and goings. After his mother's death he said farewell to his father and left for Eriador to face evil under the command of his chieftain Aragorn II son of Arathorn II.
Adulthood
He fought evil for many years in Eriador sometimes alone sometimes with his fellow rangers and sometimes on big missions lead by Aragorn II. He was a very respected and wise man and knew how to lead his fellow kinsmen, he was especially noted for and good at keeping his men alive. Even the Elves admired his brilliance and prowess in battle. So much so that Lord Elrond was willing to train him in the art of war of the Elves. It was during this time that he learned Quenya, and Adûnaic and the healing abilities of nature, he was also educated in the lore of middle earth from the years of the Lamps to the Third age. When he was temporarily off duty he met and married an Elf-woman called Elenwë. They got two children, a son Tar-Élendur and a daughter Eärwen. He sent them to his father in Gondor after it started becoming increasingly more dangerous in Eriador for them to live a life. He was 84 when he sent his family to his father, shortly after he sent them Osgiliath was attacked by Sauron signifying the start of the War of the ring. He had become a true veteran now and was a trusted friend to those who called themselves the free peoples and he would go on to play an important role during the war.
Life in the Fourth age
He is believed to have been the captain of the king's guard in Annúminas after Aragorn Elessar restored that city. He and his family together with his father had a good life in the growing and flourishing city of Annúminas. His father laid himself to rest in the year 71 of the Fourth age at the age of 206. As was the custom of the Dúnedain they would not die of old age like Middle Men but lay themselves to rest when they felt their mental and physical state started to wane.
Death
Tarlantir laid himself to rest in the year 110 of the Fourth age at the age of 197 in Annúminas. Just like his father he felt his state deteriorating and gave up his life voluntarily, like his father and other forebears before him. What happened to his family is unknown but it is assumed that after a year of sorrow life continued as usual and that his son succeeded him to the captaincy of the king's guard.
