Bio
Fredeghar Wayfarer is a Fallohide Hobbit and kinsman of the Hornblower family. He is the son of Wilcomb Hornblower and Ivy Boffin-Hornblower and brother of Tigerlily Hornblower. Born in the town of Waymeet, where the various roads through the Shire connect, Fredeghar met many travelers from distant lands and became enamored of the outside world. Fredeghar chose his surname of Wayfarer during his own travels, in order to assume a new identity and avoid bringing shame to his relatives as one unnaturally prone to adventures.
Fredeghar once served as esquire to Giladan, a Ranger of the Dúnedain charged with defending the Shire. The young Hobbit accompanied Giladan on his patrols around the borders of the Shire and the surrounding lands, learning hunting, swordsmanship, archery, hand-to-hand combat, and wilderness survival skills. His world was shattered, however, when Giladan was slain by Stone-trolls during a journey towards Rivendell. After his mentor's tragic death, Fredeghar began wandering Middle-earth helping those in need and carrying on Giladan's work.
His deeds have earned him honorary membership among several clans of the Dúnedain, including the Rangers of Esteldin, the Wardens of Annúminas (defenders of the ancient capital of Arnor), and the Grey Company, whose uniform he wears proudly. He is also a member of the adventurer clan, the Foolhardy Ringleaders. A seasoned explorer, Fredeghar has traveled to almost all the lands of Eriador and Rhovanion, as well as Gondor and Mordor.
