The Life of Findurian Shadowstalker, Leader of the Legion

Born in the Year 3434 of the Second Age, then known as Findurian, spent most the happier years of his life in the Elven Refuge of Edhelion. He dwelt there in happiness for many centuries, until the shadows began to grow. In the year 2419 of the Third Age, the Enemy penetrated far into the West, laying siege to the Refuge of Edhelion. It was during the Battle of Edhelion, where many of the peaceful folk were slain and driven away, that Findurian first picked up sword, little knowing his destiny. In the year 2011 A.D. of the Calendar of Men, Findurian left the Refuge of Edhelion and began his questing throughout Middle Earth. Sometime in that year, Findurian, now a hunter, joined a band of adventurers, who did not call themselves by the name they do now. Their bonds were the unbreakable bonds of kinship, and shared hate for the Enemy. Findurian spent many months fighting the Enemy, and grew familiar with many of the ways and secrets of the Enemy, and of life in Middle Earth. He came to know the founders of the kinship, Theprincesszelda and Dornigal. Their leadership and courage was second to none, coupled with a brightly burning fire of love that had developed between them, one that inspired many a blush and joyful sigh. They built a house in Falathlorn, and the congregations there were days of feasting and plenty.

However, this was not to last for Findurian. The Enemy was numerous, Middle Earth was dying, and the Power of the Elves was fading. In the close of the year, Findurian was grievously wounded by the Enemy. He grew weary of Middle Earth, and passed over the sea to a Refuge beyond the sea, where none now choose to dwell. For two years, Findurian passed from all knowledge and sight, living out his days in peace and sorrow.

Until, one dark day, a messenger bearing grievous tidings came. His companions had gone, and where they dwelt no one then knew. Findurian girded himself again for battle, and returned to Middle Earth. Findurian returned in the year 2013 A.D. of the Calendar of Man, only to find the Enemy grinning. The Shadow had grown long. His companions had scattered, powerless to the forces that split that which had once been unshakable. Dornigal and Theprincesszelda are rumored to have been divided, and rumors still fly as to the cause. The kinship was now the Legion of the Silent River, and Findurian was the only remaining member to be left alive.

Findurian began to hunt for news of his old friends. Many of them were found to have passed over the Sea, and would not return until the changing of the world. Of Dornigal or Theprincesszelda, not even rumors could be found. Findurian, seeing the Enemy growing, began to set about reforming his kinship. A few weeks into the fall of the year 2013 A.D. of the Calendar of Man, Findurian met two chance companions: Nurdoriel and Celthaliel. A few weeks later, Findurian met another chance companion: Vertigoe, then known as Kerosene. These three companions are forever honored as the Founders of the Legion.

Findurian and his friends, who are too numerous to mention, have since built the Legion of the Silent River into a powerful kinship that is respected throughout the vast Middle Earth. From its humble rebirth from four enthusiastic members, the Legion now numbers over 200. Tales and songs are written of its glory, and its history now lives in legend. Today, Findurian Shadowstalker remains Leader of the Legion, working tirelessly to destroy the Enemy and to aid his companions. His home is always open to those who need him, and he stands ready to assist any who ask for it. Findurian Shadowstalker welcomes anyone to the Legion. He is backed by a strong corps of officers, and is thankful for his friends that he has met. Findurian also searches for news of Dornigal or Theprincesszelda, so if you have any, even rumors, pass it to him. You will have his sincerest thanks.

Findurian, fighting his way through the darkness of Moria, emerged a hunter of great repute and skill. His method of defeating his enemy is that of silently stalking his prey, and then after much preparation, springing a trap that few withstand. He renamed himself Findurian Shadowstalker whilst hunting the Enemy among the fen and fern of Lothlorien.
