Suggested Class-infobox Mock Up
The image on the right is a suggestion for replacing the class-infobox template. A couple points need to be made:
- Completely off the cuff. Attempting to show a wide range of info and answers so as to allow proper spacing.
- Effort was made to "un-square" the image a bit so that, despite being in a table, it would not have the rigid, square look sometimes seen in wikis due to the engine's graphic limitations.
- Not sure if this exact implementation is feasible graphically as imagined, although slicing the image would produce the correct end result.
- Moderately complex table:
- Title: A caption, with a black background and no borders across the top.
- Two images sit within the caption, B&W curly-cues that are left and right aligned respectively to "un-square" things.
- Two Data Columns: Left column is headers (text is right aligned), right column is data (text is left aligned). Text alignment also helps to "un-square" things. However this enforces a central alignment on the gutter between columns making sure material is highly readable.
- Headers and Data are suggestions, but convey the gist of what I would like to see. Basically a "baseball card" approach to an overview of the class. Making it easy to scan and determine if a class will suit your needs for a new character.
- I do not advocate the removal of article text in favor of data snippets. I personally cannot stand a wiki that normalizes data to the point where it exists in a vacuum.
- For Race, an icon might be easier than text - but presumes an artist is available to create them.
- Image Column: The line art image, with border and the class symbol overlay, would need to be created and uploaded.
- Title: A caption, with a black background and no borders across the top.
- Potential Issues: Table layout might become warped if the user increases text size substantially. Page size increases should be fine as all elements will expand proportionally.
- Moderately complex table:
This would result in the table structure seen to the right, with red representing the cell borders. I am not a programmer, nor particularly good with wiki table syntax. Something like a modified version of the NPCinfobox (dark header - left aligned, white text; white cells - black text, 1st column is right aligned while 2nd column is left aligned; 3rd column added spanned across rows to hold image) can be used.
