Bio
Deyvo Nimblefinger was born in Hobbiton in the Shire. In his early years he lived the normal life of a Shire hobbit. Deyvo helped his father with the farming, and his mother with the cooking, and would sometimes help his mother mend garments. His parents hoped he would follow in his grandfather's foot steps and become a tailor, but Deyvo would have other foot steps in mind.
As he grew Deyvo developed a curiosity and spirit of exploration that led him to trample all over the Shire, and later would travel as far as Buckland and even Bree to visit the Bree-land hobbits and meet the various strange and wonderful people in Bree. Deyvo relished hearing stories of far away places, the history and stories of Elves, Dwarves, and Men. Despite the admonishment of his parents, Deyvo idolized Bilbo Baggins after Bilbo returned from the Quest of Erebor, and would often ask Bilbo to share stories of his adventures with the wizard Gandalf and the mighty dwarves of Thorin Oakenshield's party.
Deyvo's parents would often travel to Staddle in Bree-land to exchange various farmed and cooked goods with friends who had settled there. Deyvo's parents went missing during one of these visitations, leading Deyvo to travel to Staddle to investigate. After talking to the people of Staddle and Bree, he searched the road between Bree and Buckland, and found his parent's cart abandoned and some their belongings scattered about it. Upon further investigation, Deyvo found that the most likely explanation was that his parents were abducted and/or killed by Blackwold brigands that had been raiding travellers. Deyvo's heart was hardended, and he began to mistrust Men. He vowed to find the killers and avenge his parents. His quest for vengeance lead him toward Archet, where he himself was abducted by brigands, though he managed to escape with the help of Elves and heroic Men, which restored his trust in (some) Men.
Before journeying back to the Shire, he stayed for a few nights at the Prancing Pony Inn in Bree. On one fateful night gazing at the stars, he saw an attractive hobbit woman pickpocket something from an unsavory looking man. The next day he saw her in the Prancing Pony and introduced himself to her, learning her name was Albra Lowbanks. He asked about the incident the night before and she told him that man was a petty thief who had stolen a pouch of coins from a hobbit, so she stole it back and returned it to the hobbit. The two talked for hours, and he was surprised to learn that she knew of Bilbo and even had met him. Over the next few nights the two spent more time together, and developed a friendship. She shared stories of her adventures with him, and he told her of his parent's plight. She agreed to take him in and let him stay with her for a time, and began to teach and train him in the ways of the burglar. Deyvo was well on his way following in the footsteps of "Old Mad Baggins".
Deyvo returned to the Shire and kept up his burglar training with Lilabet Roper, and continued his studies of farming, cooking, and tailoring to honor his parents. His heart lightened with time. He now continues to adventure throughout Middle-earth, undertaking quests (both trivial and epic) to defend and support the meek and helpless, and to battle the Enemy and the forces of evil which took his parents from him.
Deyvo has joined the Runic Knights, a large kinship of heroes and warriors who uphold the principles of honor, decency, and justice.
Currently Deyvo Nimblefinger maintains a residence in the Southfarthing of the Shire, at 6 Myrtle Court in the Turtledown neighborhood. Deyvo returns to his house often in between quests and adventures, and always had a table of food ready for visitors.
