Talk:Defiler's Totem

Is this a "creature" or an "object"? Does it deliver damage? How much? Or is it rather just a debuffer? If only the latter I suggest we move this page to Item:Defiler's Totem and capture its abilities. In the latter case I believe this thing is quite the like skeleton piles in the Forsaken Inn and the similar "active" objects, though this is summoned. But what do I know? ;) -- Zimoon (talk) 12:43, 27 September 2012 (EDT)

I consider these to be the equivalent of other summoned allies. You can target them and attack them. When defeated, their effect, usually a debuff, goes away. Sometimes, it is necessary to take them out in order to defeat their summoner. My vote is to keep them as creatures, just like summoned creatures that dish out damage. Being possible to defeat is not in itself a measurement, but if it is by fight and within Lotro I guess that is a good point.
Can a LM read their stats? If not we have another "item" to the list of things where we want to fix the creature template to handle this type of odd-balls. The former items are real creatures but level less than something like 15-17 when the readings begin to be noticeable less precise. I think that was mentioned at the Creature template's talk page. Right now it is just confusing seeing this big blank black box. If yes, where is an LM? ;)
