Welcome to Dragon Slayers

Dragon Slayers was created by Dixi Ravensten.

His aim was to create a community for like-minded people to get together, have fun and explore the lands of Middle Earth.

Since then Dragon Slayers has gone from strength to strength. Together we have scoured the lands of the free peoples in the name of all that is good.

We have battled the False King Mordirith in the depths of Carn Dum and slain his foul minions. Beneath our swords, bows and staves fell the great balrog Thaurlach and we danced with joy over the fell corpse of Thorog the dragon. Onwards we fought and into Moria we plunged.

Here we were met by the orcs and goblins of Mazog, he who called himself Lord of Caves. From the great halls of upper Moria to the reeking caverns of the Foundations of Stone we slew the wicked creatures of the enemy untill at last we came upon Dâr Narbugud to face the Mistress of Pestilence and the foul things under her dominion. This was a great battle and took all the strength, wit and courage we could muster but in the last the Dragon Slayers were victrious and our battle cry rang through all of Moria stricking fear into the hearts of even the most vicious of things.

Many and great were the deeds of our kinsmen in those forsaken pits, and long shall they live in song among the free peoples.

I remeber the gladness of my heart as we stepped forth from the dark halls of Moria into the sunlight and pure air of Nanduhirion. I glanced around me at my kin. Wearied and battle-worn they were and I could see the same gladness I felt; reflected in their eyes. Yet all around me knew that this was not the end; for word had reached us that the land of Lothlorien, where the Lord and Lady of the wood dwelt, was in need of aid. And so we gathered our weapons and strengthened our resolve and onwards we went once more.

In Lorien we tarried a while, and the restoration of our spirits was most welcome at that time, but it was not to be that we stayed in the Golden Wood over long. Word had reached us of a new threat and a power rising east of the Anduin in Mirkwood. I doubt not that had one chosen to turn back from our group the others would have accepted this without grudge. Our journey thus far had been long and perilous and all had left loved ones and places of great joy behind them, but as we gathered there on the banks of Anduin I saw the Dragon Slayers in all their glory. Friends we had lost along the way, like Larsrond the Hunter; truest of friends and sturdiest of companions. Once successor to Dixi Ravensten. Larsrond headed out alone in Moria one day in pursuit of goblins and never returned. Despite the best efforts of the kinship no trace of him was ever found and his loss was greatly mourned. His title of successor was passed to his son Rolds. Other losses there were, of no less worth. New faces I saw among us too, for our kinship had grown in numbers during our journey. New friends we had made and new allegiances we had forged on the fields of battle.

I sit now in the prow of a Galadhrim boat that bears me swiftly to the eastern shore of the Anduin. Around me are kinmates, beside me are more boats in similar fasion. I do not know what perils or hardships await us in Mirkwood. For my part I fear that these coming days will be tougher than any that we have yet seen. As we aproach the shores I look at the faces around me, many emotions are there for eyes to garner but none show any sign of fear. We are close now. In the boat to my right standing at the prow I see my leader Dixi, his eyes shining and his long hair flying in the wind. His elven armour is scarred with the memories of battles past and I remember all that we have seen together. Dixi turns his head and grins at me. I too stand now. I place my bow, Celebcu, on my back and place a hand on the hilt of my sword Faeredir. I do not know what perils or hardships await us in Mirkwood but I am glad that whatever they are I will have Dragon Slayers at my side.

Information

Dragon Slayers is a mixed race kinship on [EN]Eldar server. The main foundation of the kinship is in Community. Membership is by invitation only but all requests will be considered. We have a Kinhouse on the riverbank in Falathlorn. A lively and always engaging kin-chat which members are encouraged to use.

All Dragon Slayers officers are there to help keep the Kinship running smoothly.

Please do not hassle officers about quest problems that's what kinchat is for. However please feel free to contact any of the people listed above with general kinship problems, membership queries etc.

Raiding

Nyenna is our offcial leader of raiding. A self confessed raid junkie, he is always one of the first to learn new instances and content so that she can then teach the rest of the kin.

We do prefer to run 'all-kin' raids and are keen to get members up to raid standard if that is what you are interested in. That means running instances or quests to get players the neccesary gear to go in for harder content (for example, radiance gear for gated instances such as Dâr Narbugud or Barad Guldur) or running content slowly and thoroughly while explaining the mechanics of pulls, mobs and instances. We also have Supreme Master Crafters for all the crafting vocations for any of you gear needs.

Events

We run Kinship events over the year. Past ones have inluded screenshot competions on our website forums, sparring competitions and beer runs. We have plans for more of these events and some different ones too.
