Rómendacil, born Tarostar, was the 8th king of Gondor, ruling in Third Age 492 - 541.
As Prince Tarostar, he led the forces to defend Gondor against the first Easterling invasion. He led a campaign for years and triumphed in many battles. In Third Age 500, he took the name Rómendacil, meaning "East-victor".
Even despite his many triumphant battles, the Easterling threat did not end during his lifetime, and in 541, he was killed in battle. He was honored with a statue and plaque on The Pier of Minas Tirith.
