Walkthrough & Notes

This quest is optional for the completion of The Dome of Stars instance. Scattered throughout Rómendacil's Square are five Easterling Sorcerers with Easterling Devoted and Loyal Craban allies. Rook is accompanied by four Easterling Sorcerer-lords that must be defeated before he can take damage. The Sorcerer-lords occasionally receive a 30-second buff which reduces incoming damage by 90%. Upon expiration, they can be damaged normally. Easterling Devoted and Dun Craban will periodically be summoned during the fight.

Quest Text

Background Amassing a small, yet fiercely loyal band of followers amidst the Easterling forces through his inexplicable kinship with crebain, a strange man has come to Osgiliath and seeks to unleash his talents against those that would deny him. Objective 1 Defeat Easterlings in the Brotherhood of the Pinioned (0/5) Followers of the Brotherhood of the Pinioned can be found throughout Osgiliath, and often wander far from their Easterling brethren. You recall Echil's mentioning of a "Lord of Pinions" among the Easterlings who now form a brotherhood under him. You should seek out and defeat his followers to learn more of his whereabouts. NOTE: You must defeat all five groups of Easterling Sorcerers to unlock the optional Lord of Pinions encounter. Easterling Sorcerer says, They have come as the Lord said! Easterling Sorcerer says, Devoted, to me! Easterling Sorcerer says, Now, my pets! Easterling Sorcerer says, You will not escape our Lord's wrath! Easterling Sorcerer says, He knew of your coming... Defeated Easterlings in the Brotherhood of the Pinioned (5/5) The gate in the northeastern corner of Rómendacil's Square thunders open. Objective 2 Defeat the Lord of Pinions The Lord of Pinions can be found in the north-eastern corner of Osgiliath. You have weakened the Brotherhood of the Pinioned, and should now confront the Lord of Pinions in Osgiliath. Rook says, Ah, you have come! I see the allure of confronting me proved too tempting. I remember you, <name>, even if you have forgotten me! When last I saw you, I swore to become a great Wizard in the East! Yet, my quest was naught but folly, you see... ...for that old fool Saruman is defeated and left to rot in his tower! I bet even he did not suspect such incredible feats from one so lowly... Once a servant - now a Lord! Let my wings shield you! My flock grows! What have you done to my flock?! You have always stood in my way, but not this time! My birds! My precious crebain! Come back!
