Quest Text

Bestowal Dialogue 'Most of the warriors have been called away to war, and the few recruits that remain are young and untested. Our Master-at-arms, Hathalon, has his hands quite full trying to turn these boys into fighters. I know he could use your help, <name>. 'The sparring circle is high above us, north-west of Lady Vanyalos's hall. Find Hathalon and offer your services, and I know he will make use of your skills. Imloth Melui needs as many warriors as she can get, even if she has to make them herself!' Background Captain Merenir feels that if you sparred with some of his guards, it would raise their spirits and improve their form. Objective 1 Talk to Hathalon on the height, north-west of the Hall of Lady Vanyalos Hathalon can be found at the sparring area high up in Imloth Melui, north-west of the Hall of Lady Vanyalos. Captain Merenir has asked you to help Hathalon train some of the new recruits. Hathalon: 'Captain Merenir sent you to spar with the lads? You have my permission to do what you can, <class>, but take it easy on them! Imloth Melui has need of fighters, and these recruits are the best we can manage at the moment. Can you believe it? These youths are the best warriors we have! 'Do not break them! I need them back when you are finished! Just teach them what you can!' Objective 2 Talk to a young recruit at the sparring area in Imloth Melui The sparring area is high up in Imloth Melui, west of Lady Vanyalos' quarters. Fresh recruits are ready to spar with you in an effort to improve their skills. Young Recruit: 'I have seen no real combat, and I wish I might keep it that way! You will go easy on me, will you not? You seem to be a fierce <class>, and I do not want to get hurt!' Objective 3 Defeat the young recruit at the sparring area The sparring area is high up in Imloth Melui, west of Lady Vanyalos' quarters. Fresh recruits are ready to spar with you in an effort to improve their skills. Young Recruit says, "I am not afraid!" Young Recruit says, "I give up! I give up!" Talk to another young recruit at the sparring area in Imloth Melui Young Recruit: 'I watched you fight, <name>, and I am ready for your tricks. You will not defeat me so easily!' Defeat the young recruit at the sparring area Young Recruit says, "I am ready for you!" Young Recruit says, "If only I could fight as you do!" Objective 4 Talk to one more young recruit at the sparring area in Imloth Melui The sparring area is high up in Imloth Melui, west of Lady Vanyalos' quarters. Fresh recruits are ready to spar with you in an effort to improve their skills. Young Recruit: 'I do not question your skills, <name>. I have seen enough to know that you are a fierce opponent, but I am ready to face you. Underestimate me at your peril! Prepare for battle!' Defeat the young recruit at the sparring area Young Recruit says, "I will give you a real challenge!" Young Recruit says, "Mercy, I cry mercy!" Objective 5 Talk to Hathalon on the height, north-west of the Hall of Lady Vanyalos Hathalon can be found at the sparring area high up in Imloth Melui, west of the Hall of Lady Vanyalos. You helped Hathalon train some of the new recruits, and should see what he thought of your lessons. Hathalon: 'Ah, you did very well, <name>, and I think you managed not to bruise too many of these warriors-to-be beyond repair. Every injury will teach them something important about combat, and they will be better prepared for facing a real enemy! 'If every youth in Gondor learned to fight as you do, the kingdom would not want for warriors!'
