Quest Text

Background Defeat the Gaunt-lord Ferndúr in the Lost Temple discovered within the Trollshaws before he completes his plan to unleash a deadly plague upon the North! Objective 1 Defeat Ferndúr the Virulent Ferndúr the Virulent has nearly completed his deadly experiments beneath the lost Rhudauran temple. He and his servants must be defeated before his plans come to fruition! Plague-wight Captain says, "All the North shall fall to the plague...beginning with you! Arise, my soldiers, arise and destroy!" Plague-wight says, "We awaken...to serve...." Múl Dúin says, "The kings of Rhudaur cannot aid you fools...they are our slaves!" Forgotten King says, "Rhudaur fell to darkness without battle, for our will was bent before our swords were raised." Forgotten King says, "Now Ferndúr means to break the will of the North, overcoming all with decay and despair." Forgotten King says, "And for our role, we who were once kings are now condemned to watch as his evil gathers...unless you can stop him." Forgotten King says, "Call upon me and my brothers as one, and we shall open the way." Vernon Thistlethorn says, "You seek to wake the ancient kings? It shall not be mortals...you shall succumb here instead." Forgotten King says, "Three kings of Rhudaur, brothers in arms, rivals in spirit. Here we lie entombed." Forgotten King says, "We accepted the mantle of Angmar, and so here we shall remain until it is lifted at last." Forgotten King says, "In our penance, we watch this place, but are powerless to condemn the evils within." Frûmolog says, "Struggle, little mortals. Weaken and die, so that we may take your husks for ourselves." Forgotten King says, "Long ago, we were forced to watch as Ferndúr committed his perverse rites in the lower temple." Forgotten King says, "Now he does so again, preparing to unleash a scourge that will devastate the North." Forgotten King says, "Those who would enter that temple must open the three kings' chambers as one." Forgotten King says, "But be warned: Ferndúr has laid traps for those who would interfere. Your death awaits." Ferndúr the Virulent says, "Ah, my friends, I am afraid you are too late." Ferndúr the Virulent says, "You shall be among the first to join my army as my plague sweeps the North." Ferndúr the Virulent says, "But first, you shall perish!"
