Khârdu
Khârdu is an Ordâkhai war-captain formerly stationed in the region of Khûd Zagin. Once a respected commander among the Ordâkhai occupying forces in the Barrens of Ubâd, Khârdu was driven into exile following a coup that elevated the warlord Jombahok to power at the fortress of Ar-jirush. Despite his removal from command, Khârdu retains influence among certain Ordâkhai soldiers who remain loyal to him, and his continued presence in the region poses a threat to Jombahok's authority.
Before his exile, Khârdu commanded a significant portion of the Ordâkhai garrison responsible for controlling the lands around Jirush. Known for his ambition and command of hardened warriors, he cultivated strong loyalties among his captains and troops. When Jombahok seized control of the Ordâkhai forces in Khûd Zagin, Khârdu was forced from his position and driven eastward, leaving his followers divided between allegiance to their former captain and obedience to the new warlord.
Though absent from Ar-jirush, Khârdu's influence lingers within the ranks of the occupying army. Several soldiers and officers once sworn to him remain in service under Jombahok, including the captain Bosóta Dôlo, whose divided loyalties reflect the broader tensions among the Ordâkhai. These lingering allegiances contribute to a fragile and distrustful command structure within the occupying forces.
The rebels of Khûd Zagin, led by Amalíbi, seek to exploit this division. By intercepting messages and spreading carefully planted information, they attempt to provoke hostility between Jombahok and Khârdu. The rebels believe that if open conflict erupts between the rival commanders, the resulting chaos could fracture the Ordâkhai occupation and provide an opportunity to reclaim their lands.
