- This page is about the King of Gondor. For Eärendil the Mariner, see Eärendil.
King Eärendil was the fifth King of Gondor, ruling from 238 to 324 of the Third Age. He shared his name with Eärendil the Mariner, the great hero who voyaged to Aman and saved Middle-earth from the darkness of Morgoth nearly four thousand years before King Eärendil's time.
Eärendil ruled Gondor for eighty-six years, and was succeeded by his son, Anardil. He was honored with a statue and plaque in the Master's Tier of Minas Tirith.
