The illusion of Durin's Bane is encountered as the last boss of the Fear Wing in the 12-man raid Ost Dunhoth.

Tactics

This fight is a bit different depending on the tier.

On tier 1, there will be no fire spawned. He does have a special ability called Execute. If six player deaths in total occur during the fight, the raid will be instantly wiped. The tanks will need to swap aggro around in order to get rid of special debuffs. After he is taken more than halfway down, he will do a 360˚ AoE fire damage attack (Face your Fears) that can be greatly reduced by facing away.

On tier 2 the fight is the same, but he will additionally spawn fires that deal 500-1000 damage each tick. Therefore, he will have to be moved around the platform. Also, taking the full AoE damage by not turning away makes you complete the Challenge mode.

Note that on an initial inspect, all mitigations show up as Remarkable. After a Lore-master's Ancient Craft has been applied, you'll see that he actually has a slightly lower mitigation for Beleriand, and secondly Common damage (both "Superior").
