Comments on Mordor Essences

[This is an updated version of my previous post. Empowered Shadow essences are now available, and will be able to be upgraded to Abyssal in the next update. Currently on Bullroarer, there is no way for Cooks or Scholars to upgrade their essences because of missing recipes and the fact that a barter item is bound. I assume this will be fixed before launch, because there is no workaround.]
Mordor essences currently come in 6 variants. Dark, Empowered Dark, and Shadowed are tier 9 and be slotted in gear with an equip level of 106 or above. Empowered Shadowed, Abyssal, and Empowered Abyssal are tier 10 and can be slotted only in level 115 gear. (Abyssal and Empowered Abyssal will be in the next update.)
A Shadowed Essence box can be crafted by Jewellers, Metalsmiths, Tailors, Weaponsmiths or Woodworkers (No Cook or Scholar recipes). The recipes are single-use and not bound, and the essence boxes also not bound, so you can get a recipe and have someone else make it for you. There is no upgrading or recycling of essences at this point.
An Empowered Shadowed Essence box can be crafted by Jewellers, Metalsmiths, Tailors, Weaponsmiths or Woodworkers (No Cook or Scholar recipes). The recipe is permanent (so only needs to be bartered once). Empowered Shadowed essences will be able to be upgraded to Abyssal essences.
We do not yet know where Empowered Abyssal essences come from. Here are the current essences: (From Bullroarer prior to relase of 21.2)

- Most Dark essences are about 2/3 of the Shadowed essence; Physical and Tactical Mastery are about 4/5. Empowered Dark essences are about 95% of Shadowed. Empowered Shadow essences are about 5% more than Shadow. Abyssal adds another 8.5% and Empowered Abyssal adds another 9%.
- There does not appear to be a Dark or Empowered Dark essence of Morale, although the Shadowed Essence of Morale is in the box.
- The essence called Healing is for outgoing healing. The incoming healing essence is called Restoration.
- The Empowered Gleaming Essence of Light gives +14 Light of Earendil and can drop from mobs or be in a Rare Mordor Chest.
- The
Empowered Glowing Essence of Light (level 330) gives +16 Light of Earendi - listed with Empowered Shadowed Essences for barter - The
Shining Essence of Light (level 337) gives +18 Light of Earendi - listed with Empowered Shadowed Essences for barter - The Empowered Shining Essence of Light (level 345) gives +20 Light of Earendi - listed with Empowered Abyssal Essences for barter
- The Glowing Essence of Light gives +10 LoE and can drop from mobs.
