Does anyone else see this?

Can anyone else get a good look at Dagger 1 (common) and Dagger 1 (rare reputation) icons? They look more like the Dagger 5 set than the Dagger 1 set to my eyes. Iorothiel (talk) 03:41, 2 January 2013 (EST)

The #1 daggers appear to have a bright spot at the pommel or butt end of the handle. The #5 daggers do not have that bright spot.

The image quality may be poor in some of those icons. You need to perform minimal image manipulations to preserve all detail when capturing an image. I use the Opaque skin, which provides for a black 0% transparency background for tool tips. I clip the icon from the screen shot jpg and save as the 32x32 bit png. For comparison purposes only, you can examine the icons in the lorebook, however all icons here should be derived from in-game screen shots from a live version of the game (not from the beta Bullroarer server or alpha Palantir server, unless you verify that the imagery made it into live).

All that being said, the icons used in-game do change. The authoritative information about the icons is found in-game today. Just because the icon for one item is different from what we show here, does not mean that the icon used in-games has changed for all the other items which use the same icon. That means that you can provide a better quality version of an icon on this page, but if the imagery seems to be different, you should start a new icon set, and migrate items to the new set as you confirm which imagery they now use.

And, don't forget that items and their icons are versioned. An item someone acquired several years ago may have different stats and different graphics that one you acquire in the game today.

I'm not sure it's entirely about quality, though, I'm just wondering if they were placed in the wrong set. Compare to or .

It doesn't help that I haven't quite grasped moving things yet, but I'm going to try and find a common/rarerep icon that fits the 1 set before figuring out where else to go here. Iorothiel (talk) 23:07, 2 January 2013 (EST)
