Explanation of the display style used at Lotro-Wiki |
---|
There are two types of quest-chains in Lotro: named quest-chains, which always can be read in the quest log, and logical chains, which are not read in the quest log but nevertheless have prerequisites on other quests. Quests in named quest-chains sometimes do not even have prerequisites on one another but simply share the name of a "quest arc", as Lotro calls them. Usually, though, both named and logical quest-chains consist of quests with prerequisites on one another. However, quite often a couple of quests in the middle must be completed so the chain can move forward. This explanation shows how Lotro-Wiki has decided to display the different situations. A simple chain looks this way...
... where the next quest is not available until the current has been completed. A named "arc" without dependencies looks this way...
... where the quests may be done in any order. A mixed chain may look this way...
... where quests A and B can be done in any order but the third quest is not available until both A and B have completed. Sometimes the first quest is uncompleted until A and B are done but the display will be the same. Very seldom there are more complex displays than this, but such chains indeed exist. Just remember,
Furthermore, at Lotro-Wiki we always explain in words whether a quest is a prerequisite for one or more quests. And which prerequisites must be met to open the quest you are reading about. Or both. |
