Bog Guardians are found asleep at some locations within Meluinen, in North Downs. They are harmlessly snoring, until at completion of a quest when they rise in defence of Meluinen and the warding Elves.

The bog-lurkers are sleeping near "canels", Elf-runes at the islets of Meluinen.
