Black Númenóreans
Black Númenóreans are are evil Men who served Sauron before his downfall, and continue to fight the forces of the Free Peoples afterward. Most of the Angmarim are also classified as Black Númenóreans as well, although many of them are Hill-men by ancestry.
A few Black Númenóreans of Mordor are directly involved in battles in Rohan and Gondor, but many more can be found in the Plateau of Gorgoroth after Sauron's defeat. Among these are the Gúrzyul, powerful servants of Sauron whom he has made Deathless, and many of their followers; and the Order of the Eye, a cult whose members believe Sauron will return once again. Black Númenóreans in service to the Gúrzyul Karazgar the Weeping Warrior come to Eryn Lasgalen and the Dale-lands, helping their master with some scheme he has for the North.
Lore
In the Second Age 2221, when Tar-Ancalimon became King of Númenor, the Númenóreans became divided. The King's Men turned away from the Valar and the Eldar and eventually became vulnerable to the corruption of Sauron. Many of the King's Men who had sailed to the shores and seaward regions in the south of Middle-earth and established fortresses and dwellings during Sauron's sojourn in Númenor were already bent to the will of Sauron. As a consequence, the King's Men hated the followers of Elendil. Umbar was the northernmost stronghold of the King's Men.
