The '''LOTRO Store''' was introduced with [[Patch Notes - Vol III Book 2|Volume III, Book 2: The Ride of the Grey Company]] with the introduction of the [[Account Type|Free to Play]] microtransaction model. Purchases in the Store are made using [[LOTRO Point]]s. The Store can be accessed at any time in the game, even in dungeons and during quests, by clicking on the LOTRO Store icon ([[File:LOTRO Point-icon.png|20px]]), or by pressing Ctrl-S. It is important to remember that the Store is "character-sensitive." That is to say, it will only show you items which that particular character accessing it is qualified to purchase. The Store can also be accessed from the Character Selection screen, but it will only display account-wide items there.

All items are listed on this page with their normal costs, but prices can vary due to the weekly sales of the Store.
* In-game Store sales always start on Thursdays and are advertised in the main LOTRO forums, usually in the [https://forums.lotro.com/index.php?forums/announcements.5/ Announcements] section or in the  [https://forums.lotro.com/index.php?forums/sales-and-promotions.8/ Sales and Promotions] section.

Note that the web site [https://www.lotro.com/home '''Shop'''] section and the in-game [[LOTRO Store]] serve different functions. The web site Shop uses monetary payments only, not [[LOTRO Points]] and generally has better deals on content than the in-game Store (i.e. expansion sales, etc.).

Coupon codes can only be redeemed through the in-game LOTRO Store via the ''Redeem Code'' section. These codes are acquired from outside the game. Typical codes that can be redeemed:

Occasionally the free item will be slightly more special, such as mithril coins or a free house decoration or cosmetic item.
