Effect Information
This effect has a 0.5% chance to be activated on the character, when successfully hitting an enemy while at Fearless or higher Landscape Difficulty. The effect only triggers with enemies higher than or equal to the character's level minus 1 (so a mob versus a lvl20 character, must be lvl19 or higher).
While this effect is active on a character, when in combat they will periodically trigger a ground-centred area-of-effect attack that deals Shadow damage. When the attack is activated the player will see a red square surrounding their character. After a few seconds have passed if the character is still within this square then they will be damaged by the attack. To avoid the attack the player must move outside of the red square.
The Eye of Sauron does not occur within quest instances, only landscape and open instances.
