Could we get wikipedia set as an [interlinking] wiki?

And is it proper to have a link in a section title (see the Pipeweed section)?

And is it pipeweed or pipe-weed? --YuriPup 06:15, 4 April 2007 (PDT)

I think in cases like this we should have a "Related Links" section at the bottom of the article with any related sources or information. --Hamma 06:17, 4 April 2007 (PDT)
Yea that looks good, we don't want to re-invent the wheel if we can get some adequate outside sources. :D --Hamma 06:24, 4 April 2007 (PDT)

When I put in the code that starts with two curly brackets, then a colon, the words Farmer Recipes then two curly brackets, the result is MUCH different than the equivalent code produces on the Scholar page. What does that code DO, exactly - that is, where is it pointing to, and can I edit it? Thanks! (PS I had to write the code out using names because I have trouble telling it to show the code without executing the code.) -Adelas (talk) 03:33, 12 September 2011 (EDT)

Farmer Recipes was a redirect page, so I changed the name to the proper one: Farmer Recipe Index. If you use a code like {{:Farmer Recipe Index}} this includes the page into the article. Compare Farmer#Recipes with Farmer Recipe Index. It's a way of preventing pages to become very long (in the sense of how many characters they have) and prevents us from needing to copy the same text over and over again on other articles. I think I've answered your second question now as well. :) --Ravanel (talk) 06:03, 12 September 2011 (EDT)
Indeed you did, and thank you. I thought I had to use the code box or something :). I did at least figure out how to find the page and edit it, and of course forgot to update this question here, but thank you as well for directing it to an even better place. -Adelas (talk) 15:22, 12 September 2011 (EDT)

Does section 5, How to plant and harvest crops, belong here or on the Farming page? Maybe both? Some of the information is duplicated. Also, is the eventual goal to have a "how to" guide for each of the crafting professions, or is this just special because it is so complicated? -22:31, 12 September 2011 (EDT)

Notes and drop information from fields

Just to leave it "logged" in here, and so everyone knows what these changes I'm making/going to make are about: I'm removing all the old notes that say there is no way to know what the drops from fields will be and replacing with another that says you always get a crop and rare drops are random. I'm also adding the number of crops you can get per field (which as opposed to what that old note says, it varies between a fixed number per each different field).

Example for clarity: Item:Well-tended Bluebottle Field (Production section) --Gwenwyfar (talk) 17:32, 19 October 2012 (EDT)

Regarding number of crops per harvest: I think it should probably be fair to assume all crops from tier 1 till westfold have the same numbers as of rohan (3-11 per well tended, and 1-2 per rare, and haven't tested normal field yet, but should be the same for all fields too). Westfold and eastemnet have little enough to allow for testing 1 per 1, but should probably follow the same logic. Let me know if there is anything where this rule doesn't apply. Gwenwyfar (talk) 23:12, 19 October 2012 (EDT)

What about my simplification on the Well-tended Bluebottle Field? Roll back if you disagree. I am very much for dense but sufficient information, that makes it easier to find what you are looking for as it is less words to skim through. The sub-line could be simplified in itself: we don't have to say that normal crop is guaranteed, the recipe reads that, but then I also found the *rare* to be quite in my eyes ;)
I hope you took the example just at random, I mean, any field can drop rare components, not just well-tended. I find that the only bonus from well-tended is a warranted extra crop but they do not warrant rare stuff. If the likelihood is higher from well-tended I do not know, but rare come both from normal and well-tended, that I know. -- Zimoon (talk) 05:40, 20 October 2012 (EDT)
Yeah, I took the example at random as I just tested how many of each you can get from well-tended so far.
It looks just perfect that way :) I kind of just copied something that was sitting in the onion field page, I was just going to add the numbers, but that other note all over bugged me so I decided to replace it but didn't really think of what to do. The random drops are not so much rare now too. Thanks!
