Who are The Guard Of The Citadel?

In the Mansion Of The Guards

The Guard Of The Citadel is a Friendly, casual, Roleplaying Kinship devoted to immersion, both their own and that of other players. They are a Lifespan 10 Kinship with a Kin house in the ]]Bree-land Homesteads]]. They are not hardcore role-players, but they do have a large amount of roleplay and backstory incorporated into the kinship, however participating in the kin role-plays is not obligatory at all. The guard are fun loving people and kinship meetings and role-plays are always full of laughter! Their main goal is to just enjoy themselves and enrich their experience of the game and enjoy the fantastic community, that is filled with great people.

The Guard recruit primarily from the race of men as well as dwarves and elves. There is no level or class restriction, all are welcome. Members roleplay as the guards of the citadel, the elite soldiers of the kingdom of Gondor and there are a number Of Friendly Officers Who are regularly on the Site and LOTRO to assist and advise other members of the guard.

Roleplay

Two Guards Roleplay in Bree

Members of Guard of the Citadel take up the roles of Minas Tirith's elite, sent from the White City out into the world in search of important resources or information, allies, or even in folly. Each soldier may have a different mission, given unto him in Denethor's slowly maddening state. Even so, two things unite them: Loyalty to their kingdom and devotion to the free peoples of Middle Earth.

Website

The Guards have a website dedicated to the Kin where most of their Roleplaying goes on and Important Infomation is posted. It is also used for gathering ideas and general discussion. As such most officers and senior members can be found on their regularly. It is located at: gotclotr.webs.com

Manner and Behavior.

The guard roleplay as a strict military order and are a military kinship and thus act as such. They are curtious to all those they meet be they part of their kinship or not.

The members of the guard are known for their respect and helpfulness, often assisting others and willing to help. They act as insane as any other person when out of uniform, however in uniform, it is their duty to uphold the Honour and reputation of the guards and they do so with much Honour and dignity.

Recruitment

A Recruitment interview in the Pracing Pony.

Guard of the Citadel accepts Dwarves and Elves, though RP wise, positions will be limited for members of other races, however this only affects character backstory and RP. Race and class have no effect on the rank a guard can reach.

Primarily, Gondor is the greatest kingdom of men, and the race of men serves almost exclusively amidst it's military orders, although there are some of the other races who have rose to high ranks and positions of high honour and glory, as retainers of the guard.

Hobbits are not permitted to join Guard of the Citadel, as a consideration for Peregrin Took's unique place in Middle Earth history as the only halfling member ever permitted to join the Guard of the Citadel.

The guard do not simply accept members on a "I want to join, ok your in!" basis. They have a Tradition of performing a short Roleplay session with the applicant before handing them over to an officer to be interviewed and either accepted into the kinship or refused entry. This allows the guard to be The best they can and to make sure that all the prospective members are ok role-players and decent people, making sure that the guard is a good solid community of fun loving, but yet still focused people.

Uniform

The Guard have their own Uniform that doesn't require any specific class, race or level to be worn. As described by Tolkein's lore and seen in Peter Jacksons's movies, the Guards are outfitted in the livery of black and silver.

In-game, the uniform consists of a few main cosmetic items, although officers are allowed a certain level of customization. The uniform can easily be equipped as a cosmetic outfit, no assembly required! It is mainly black and silver, but with touches of red and white as well.

Ranks

There are a number of ranks in the Guard Of The Citadel, as are listed below:

-The Kin-Master. Also known as the Captain Of The Guard, The Kin-Master is the leader of the guards.

-Officers: An Integral part of the Kin, officers each manage a facet of the guard, providing new ideas and initiatives and managing their various areas to keep the guards in working order. They are allowed more freedom with their uniform and their words carry a large amount of weight.

-Senior Members: Trusted and Esteemed members of the guards, senior members are regarded with higher honor in the guard and have proved themselves in many areas.

A Word From The Guards.

"What we're looking for in members are intelligence and honesty. We'll take anyone who wishes to join, provided they're sincere about wishing to roleplay and learning the lore of the world, However all applicants must be interviewed by an officer to judge their roleplay ability and general attitude and friendliness. If you seem like a nice person and have a basic to good roleplay ability you are almost guaranteed a position in the kin! We wish to be inclusive. No one is obligated to donate anything to the kinship or it's members, nor are they obligated to take part in any other member's individual story arcs. However they are strongly encouraged to participate on the Kin roleplay that is on the site and in most major kinship gatherings.  If your interested in joining the kin ingame mail one of our other officers: Angdalen Namashe Winterwolf  Or our Kin Master, Alcare."
