Walkthrough & Notes

This quest counts for the Aiding the Sutcrofts deed. Completing Aiding the Eastemnet will cancel this quest This is an instanced public questing area. Speak to Waldeg after accepting the quest to start the public instance. The Cocoons are located within the tunnels. They are quite large and with the quest sparkle easy to spot once found. Occasionally an Orc will emerge from the cocoon rather than a Rohirrim and will immediately engage the character. This does not count towards the quest completion. Using the Select Next item key mapping option can help here, where it will show the location of a Cocoon when within proximity (Options > Key Mapping > Selection > Select Next Item) which may be above or below the target in the instance. Just keep pressing the key while moving until an interactable item is highlighted. To leave the instance either return to the instance portal or use the 'Leave Instance' function (right click the character portrait).

Bestowal dialogue 'The spiders of the Creeping Wood have covered the caves and tunnels with webs thick enough to catch even Orcs and Rohirrim. Several of our scouts who went in have not returned, and I fear that they are trapped within the spiders' nest. 'Find our scouts and free them.' Background Many Rohirrim have ventured within the Creeping Wood and never returned. Objective 1 Free Rohirrim in the Creeping Wood (0/2) Rohirrim can be found trapped within cocoons within the Creeping Wood. Waldeg asked you to venture into the Creeping Wood and see if you could rescue any trapped Rohirrim. Waldeg: 'Be wary, the spiders of the Creeping Wood can approach from nearly any angle, even above and below.' Enter the Public Instance: The Creeping Wood Objective 2 Talk to Waldeg Waldeg is at Snowbourn. Waldeg will be pleased to hear that you have rescued several Rohirrim from the Creeping Wood. Waldeg: 'I wish that you could have left the Orcs trapped within the webs, but I imagine it is hard to tell what is inside a cocoon before you slice it open.
