Bestowal dialogue 'Ah, greetings to you, good <race>! I am Gufi, at your service. It is a great day to be a dwarf, I tell you, and privileged to see the retaking of Khazad-dûm in person! Oh, of course there will be a few stumbling blocks, and the odd beast to dispatch, but I predict new veins of mithril, and gold, and riches and prosperity for us such as the mind of Durin could scarce have imagined! We are terribly short of hands down here, though. Would you mind helping us scout out a few mining sites? 'Our records suggest that there are three nearby locations in the Silvertine Lodes that are the most likely to yield results. The first of these is the central shaft of the mine itself. You will need to head to the central platform of Menem-berej and then down on to the bottom to take a good look around. The second is a chamber just to the west of here, but the old passages to the south seem to be blocked. You will have to go north from here, through the Stone Council, then west into Durin's Vault and then south to the chamber on our maps. The final location is in an abandoned passage that runs along the western edge of the Silvertine Lodes. Find the southermost extent of that passage and have a look. 'When you return with your report, we will be ready to start prospecting the sites more thoroughly!' Background Gufi is confident that the dwarves will be able to reclaim Moria quickly and is eager to scout out potential mine-sites. Objective 1 Scout beneath Menem-berej Scout the unmarked chamber Scout the tunnel The three locations Gufi spoke of are: the bottom of the shaft beneath Menem-berej in the centre of the Silvertine Lodes. An unmarked chamber south of Durin's Vault. A dead-end tunnel along the western edge of the Silvertine Lodes. Gufi has asked you to scout out three potential mine-locations. Gufi: 'There is no point proceeding until we have had a chance to scout out our best prospects.' You have scouted Menem-berej You have scouted the tunnel You have scouted the unmarked chamber Objective 2 Talk to Gufi at the Deep Descent encampment Gufi is at the Deep Descent at the northern edge of the Silvertine Lodes. You should return to Gufi with the results of your survey. Gufi: 'So what did you find? Any veins of Moria-silver? No? Well, we couldn't expect to be so lucky in our first foray.... 'Many goblins and gredbyg though? Ha! They are of little concern. A few goblins and insects have never stopped my miners before, nor shall they now!'
