At night, you will find Shadow-wolves throughout Fordirith. During the day, they are found near the Black Dens. Also take the quest Black Flames; for that quest you need to enter a cave at [60.8S, 13.1W] and find torches which are guarded by lots of Shadow-wolves.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'These strange black wolves stalk Fordirith, particularly at night as the shadows grow long and the sun is hidden from view. 'These fell spirits hunt us with dark purpose, <name>, and if our company is to pass safely, we must slay as many as we can and drive them back to their lairs. 'Go forth, my friend, and aid us with your prowess. Drive back this shadow, so that we may fulfil our purpose in the South.' Background Shadow-wolves stalk the lands of Fordirith, hunting the members of the Grey Company with deadly intent. Objective 1 Defeat Shadow-wolves (0/10) At night, Shadow-wolves can be found throughout the region, but during the light of day they seem to lair in and around the Black Dens only. Amarion has asked you to defeat several of the Shadow-wolves that stalk Fordirith. Amarion: 'Deal with the Shadow-wolves, <name>...they are a great threat to our quest.' Objective 2 Talk to Amarion at Echad Dagoras Amarion is at Echad Dagoras, north-west of the Black Dens. You should bring news of your success to Amarion. Amarion: 'These fell spirits are relentless, <name>. Despite your efforts, these creatures reappear in full number. 'Ah well, I must thank you for your efforts nonetheless.'
