Bestowal dialogue "Sithric, emissary of Theoden, rules in Stanric's place amongst rumours of foul play, and Stangard lies in disarray." Background Stanric is alive, defying the lies of Sithric. It is clear that Stanric must be freed at once, so that justice may be done for this betrayal. Objective 1 Free Stanric from his bonds Stanric is in the lockhouse. Stanric is free -- and now Sithric must pay for his crimes Stanric says, "It appears that I am further in your debt, <name>!" Stanric says, "Sithric and his guards must have given me a sleeping draught...." Stanric says, "He could not bear that we were being productive again!" Stanric says, "Before I throw him in the stocks, I want to know why...why is he here?" Stanric says, "Why has he gone to such lengths to cripple us completely?" Stanric says, "I am weak, but I hope you will help me...." Stanric says, "It is time to take back Stangard and win the hearts of my men. Will you join me?" Objective 2 Talk to Stanric Stanric is in the prison of Stangard. Stanric: 'Free at last! Thank you, <name>. I cannot believe the gall of Sithric, nor how deep corruption runs in his veins. 'It is time to take back my city!' Objective 3 Help Stanric out of his cell Stanric is in the prison of Stangard. Objective 4 Listen to Stanric's plan Stanric is in the lockhouse of Stangard. Stanric: 'Go rally the men, and I will make my way to the Mead Hall to confront Sithric. The men are often inthe inn at this time of night. 'Meet me at the Mead Hall when you can -- I don't have the strength to fight Sithric alone now. I have not eaten or slept since I was lockedup down here.' Objective 5 Rally the men in the inn Stanric wants you to rally the men of Stangard while he makes his way to the Mead Hall Athulf says, "Gadda and the others left because Sithric is corrupt...." Townsperson says, "I hear he left because Sithric is a murderer!" Townsperson says, "Shh, not so loud, you fool." Objective 6 Tell Athulf of Sithric's deception Athulf is in the tavern of Stangard with some equally suspicious men. Athulf: 'But -- <name>! What are you doing here? Sithric has men looking for you at this very moment! You should run. 'Why have you returned, friend? it must be urgent, if you are risking so much.' Athulf says, "Stanric is alive!" Athulf says, "I cannot believe Sithric would stoop to such lies to secure his power here!" Athulf says, "And for what? To starve us out, and cripple us." Athulf says, "Come, men! Let us join Stanric and <name>." Athulf says, "To the Mead Hall!" Objective 7 Talk to Stanric Stanric is now in the Mead Hall of Stangard. Stanric: '<name>, I must ask to borrow your strength this night. It looks to me like Sithric does not intend to go down without a fight.' Objective 8 Help Stanric take down Sithric once and for all Defend Stanric and defeat Sithric. Stanric says, "You shall never get away with what you did, Sithric." Stanric says, "We now have witnesses to your lies!" Sithric says, "By the law of King Theoden, I demand that you arrest all of them! Kill them if you must!" Athulf says, "We will defend Stanric, <name>! Fight well!" Sithric says, "What are you waiting for, you cowards? Do the king's bidding at once!" Adalbert says, "Yes, sir...." Adalbert says, "Please stop! I yield!" Sithric says, "You! What are you waiting for, hm?" Uthrad says, "I am sorry, sir, but this is wrong." Sithric says, "Treason! Do you think you will find mercy at Edoras, when you are tried by Gríma for your defiance?" Uthrad says, "Forgive me, <name>...." Uthrad says, "No more! I cannot win. My heart is not in this fight." Sithric says, "You will all pay!" Sithric says, "No!!" Objective 9 Talk to Stanric Stanric is in the Mead Hall. Stanric: 'You did it, <name>! Sithric will be locked up, for his proper place is in a prison. Stangard will be made right at last…and it is all thanks to you!' Stanric: 'There is nothing left for you to help with! You have freed us from Sithric's mad corruption at last.'
