Introduction
The Honourary Shirriffs are called back to life by the hobbit Oridoc (Aug 2008). This time, also elves, dwarves and men are called upon to defend the boundaries of the Shire. The Shirriffs can be characterized as a small but cosy kinship of in-game friends. Kin trips are organized for both end gaming and older challenges in Eriador.
Since 2011, the kin is inactive and serves as a kin for casual players and some hobbit fanatics.
Kinship History
The Honourary Shirriffs were founded on August the 30th, when the Order of Taerin had fallen apart. Oridoc Appleroar wanted to do something good for his beloved Shire. Too many goblins came to the Greenfields, too many wolves were born, and the bounds where no longer safe. The Brandybucks from across the river also had to deal with more enemies. Not only the Old Forest had become more dangerous, but also Big Folks appeared that started robbing.
Thats why Oridoc went to the Great Smials. There he read an old book about the so called Honourary Shirriffs, a group of most talented hobbits that earned the respect of the whole community by doing great things as Bounder. The Honourary Shirriffs were sent on many missions abroad, to maintain the peace in the Shire. But when peacefull times came, the Honourary Shirriffs had nothing to do anymore, and they dissapeared.
Now, in times of greater danger, Oridoc founded the Shirriffs again, but this time also non-hobbit friends joined him. Their mission: To save the Shire and Middle-Earth from the threat of Angmar, Dol Guldur, Moria and Isengard.
