Boar

Boars are common yet dangerous animals found throughout the plains, forests, and wooded lowlands of Middle-earth. Though entirely natural creatures and not servants of the Enemy, they are among the most aggressive beasts encountered in the wild, feared for their speed, ferocity, and massive tusks.
Wild boars vary greatly in size, from small squealing piglets to enormous razorback behemoths capable of goring armored foes. They are highly territorial and quick to anger, often responding to intruders with threatening displays before launching a sudden charge. A boar’s initial rush is especially dangerous, as its momentum and tusks can knock down or stun even a prepared opponent. Travelers are advised to remain alert in dense woodland, where the sound of rustling undergrowth may signal a boar preparing to attack.
Boars are found across nearly all regions of Middle-earth and frequently come into conflict with settlements and travelers alike. Though they may sometimes be avoided by swiftly leaving their territory, hesitation often provokes violence. Their reputation is such that tales of monstrous boars, like the Boar of Everholt, the great beast that once terrorized the Firien Wood of Rohan, remain fixed in local folklore as warnings of the wild's unchecked fury.
