• One potential area where this bird has been found is just outside of Merenost, in Meluinen. It has also been spotted near the Falconer's Tower in the Fields of Fornost.
• This bird is presumably named after Beleg Cúthalion, the greatest huntsman and archer of Doriath in the First Age, and loyal companion of Túrin Turambar.
