The good news we seem to be working on different parts of the problem!

In particular, my page(s) deals primarily with the Trait points, where they come from i.e. how to accumulate them.

The one thing which my RK does not have is the Deed: New Beginnings. And I have NO IDEA what triggers it!!! Do You? (Class Deed Tier 6)

I keep re-writing the "Total Trait Points" description section so that it "flows" and makes sense. I think I've got it pretty much straight at this point, but every time I re-read it, I find something else wrong, incomplete or otherwise confusing. :)

I guess I'm more focused on skills at the moment, so I haven't looked too far into where the trait points come from, though I've been checking my findings against yours. What you've written seems to make sense so far though I'm always looking around the corner for the curveball that Turbine inevitably throws before (sometimes after) launch.
My copied character has New Beginnings completed which looks like a revive deed (and sounds like a rehab program) - use Nothing Truly Ends 25 times. I don't know if there's a level requirement or something else that actually triggers the deed.
Also, that trait tree I put up is based off the war-steed one we've already got on the wiki, and it'll look much cleaner with all the pages filled out, but I may split up the trees to put them next to their set bonuses instead. The whole thing is still very much in flux.

I wonder do you have any further thoughts on these tables you've made? I'm leaning towards the way you set it up on the Rune-keeper page, with the three trait specs side by side and the set bonuses separate. I say this because (1) it takes up less vertical space (2) it's easier to tell (for me) what the background colors signify, and (3) the set bonuses don't actually relate directly to the traits in their matching colored tree. If I choose to spec in blue and then put all my trait points into red or yellow, I'll still get the blue trait set bonuses. Of course, most people probably will be traiting into the spec that they've chosen, and it's nice to see the bonuses laid out in a side column they way they are in the game. If we did do a separate set bonus table, we should probably include tall rectangular cell borders so it's clear you're supposed to read down, not across. The icons' consistent color scheme will also help.
One thing I did notice is that if the trait you're linking to using icon mode has a page but no icon, it causes havoc to the table it's in. Something to be aware of as we start adding in the trait and skill pages. -- Elinnea (talk) 01:27, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
I fleshed out the yellow line so I could see what the table would look like. (Side note: I'm not sure if we're overwriting those old pages or keeping them and moving them to something like "[name]_(old)".) They also temporarily use User:Neum/Sandbox-Trait which is meant to replace the current Trait template after all the kinks are worked out and any additional wanted functionality folded in.
While I'm not completely satisfied with anything yet, I think the all-in-one will be fine. It looks similar to in-game and fits in the current class pages with the set bonuses separate. I've been playing around with different ways of presenting the info but feel free to mess around with it. Neum (talk) 19:12, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
  • I would recommend moving the old pages to "[name]_(old)" and tagging them ... until the dust settles.
The following syntax will generate the tag below.
{{Obsolete|patchlink=[[Upate 12]]|type=Material is replaced - Helm's Deep Update 12 - 18 November 2013 - and |see_also=This material will be kept for historic reference purposes until June 2014.}}
  • Amongst other things, this will place the material in Category: Obsolete making it "easy" to find in the future.
