So I've noticed a lot of really really good information ends up on user pages. I mean, thanks a lot for all the hard work and all, but I'm going to focus on the actual wiki. Took me about 2 years to figure out that the good stuff was on user pages. It's really helpful, but then if it's abandoned, goes out of date, how can anyone tell? You'd have to already be 85 to be able to tell that some table of virtues is out of date because the top levels are lower than they should be or something. Just for example.

If you're a new player and you've found my talk page and you want to find people's user pages... go to google and search for 'user: site:lotro-wiki.com' (no quotes) and you'll get a huge list of user pages. Don't expect them to be up to date, but that's often where the awesome stuff is.

So anyway that's why I'm for centralized, even though it leads to lots of people re-writing what you've written. So it goes. Maybe they're right.

I'm for spoilers. That's what wiki is all about. Anything below the current expansion is something everyone's already done. It's no longer a mystery to anyone but a new player. Making it harder just drives people away into the arms of Rift or whatever. I'm practical. I'd like to develop a kind of overview of the game like this:

Level 1-10: Introduction area, focus on a few deeds so you don't have to come all the way back here to finish up. Especially any "ruins of" types. It's very common to see people at level 30 with no virtues yet as they haven't worked on their deeds. It seems like a silly grind, but there are actually 16 levels at this time of each virtue, and many deeds lead to virtues, "ruins" and "kill" deeds always lead to virtues.

Level 11-20: You might not need new gear until about level 15, and don't expect really appropriate jewelery and armor buffs yet (sometimes the best you'll find is a + to morale or power even if it's purple), but this is when you should focus on deciding which deeds you will care about and which you will ignore a bit. for example, you might decide for a fighter type, you will care about might and resistance, and go online and find the deeds that buff those traits, then go to all the places at this level that give you the first level of that virtue. doing this will get you to level 20 in no time.

Level 20-30: Barrow-downs and Bree reputation, This is a good time to find a kinship with other people who are level 20ish because you will want some company, at least small fellowships to do Barrow downs quests and gain your Bree land reputation. If you're a Wo/Man, you will gain a +1 to 3 virtues this way. But in any case you can get a call to Bree if you're not a Human. Humans get a call to Bree by completing Emnity of Wargs II deed. Bree is essential now more than ever because it has superior crafting stations of every type, and has been made very convenient in many other respects.

Level 30-40: You have many options now, but the one you might not want to miss is Wardens of Annuminas reputation because they award you with a full set of class armor. They can be found in central Evendim, around Tinundir.

Level 40-50: Legendary Item Quest and Rivendell...

.... and so on and so on...

Anyway some kind of overview would really help someone get an idea of the essential not to be missed stuff for their first character if they're new to the game. They can blunder around and find the nooks and crannies some other time when they get curious with toon number 2 or 3 or 4, but if they succeed the first time, they will be happy, the game will gain a good player and everybody wins.
