The History of Destail

(Writen in the First person)

Being a son of King Thranduil I am half Silvan elf and Half Northern Silvan elf. I have participated in the Siege of Mirkwood and fought alongside King Thranduil and Lord Glofindel. These too were my mentors and trainers. Later another son was born. Legolas Greenleaf. He became a very skilled warrior in the blade and bow. Thranduil trained him himself. As for me I found my own way to get along. I was named protector of the western border. In an encounter Thorin Oakenshield from the Lonely Mountain was traversing through our territory escorting a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins of the Shire. Thranduil immediately captured the dwarves and stuck them in the jail. My father never did like the Dwarves. I however became friends with the dwarves especially Thorin. His stories inspired many travels of mine. Legolas was my trainee and I helped him survive. Taught him everything I knew. Thranduil promised he would continue teaching Legolas when I left. As I ventured off on and adventure to Rivendell I was forced to make a journey through the Misty Mountains. As I traversed this land I met Glofindel who welcomed me to travel with him. We ventured across the land killing trolls and goblins alike. Finally we reached Rivendell after days of travel. I stayed there under the training of Elrond. High Elf of Rivendell. Then soon after Thorin found me and asked me to join him in an important mission to drive the goblins from the halls of Moria. I agreed. This mission would be one of the hardest I had ever undertaken. We traversed the misty mountains to the entrance to Moria. With some Dwarven words the doors opened and thus started our journey. We were not prepared for what we meet in the depths…. Thorin feel in the invasion. There was a creature of the old world that I had never battled before. A demon called a Balrog. This creature was a creation of the first Dark Lord. It struck out at Thorin and killed him. With much struggle I defeated the Balrog and sent the goblins running. With Elven magic I fashioned a great tomb for Thorin and his friend Balin. They both fell to the Balrog. I mourned for the loss of such a close friend. I ventured out of the caves tired and lost. I wandered the land and there is where I meet a friend that would forever be loyal to me and be the best friend I could ever have. His name was Durlak. Sturdy as a tree he never faltered in battle. We fought against the enemy for many years and have had many journeys. To this day I am friends with a descendent of his named Tokald. He is a young dwarf from the Misty Mountains. We fight the forces of darkness and will always be the best of friends. And not to recently ventured to Rivendell to pay my master a visit along with my brother. It was a wonderful reunion. Legolas has progressed much past the training I originally thought he would though I fear for what the fellowship he has joined may face. They are set to venture into the Misty Mountains and I fear that Legolas may perish there. I talked to him for a long time to warn him of the dangers of the Mine. But Legolas rarely listens to me. He will be an important part of the fellowship. His hearing is much better than the rest. I hope they can make it to their destination and destroy the ring. Then me and Legolas may venture back to Mirkwood and reunite with our Father Thranduil. There was also a Dwarf named Gimli whom I did not get the chance to bring him the news of Moria. My only hope is that Legolas can put aside his pride and warn the Dwarf of what I have told him. His father lies there and I wish the site to remain buried….

Involvement

Destail is supreem prince to Greenwood or Eryn Lasgalen. His involment is to protect all peoples of the regions of Mirkwood and Ered Luin. He is an excelent swords man and succedes with the bow as well. In the future to come, he is to play a key role in the fate of middle earth.

Thranduil's wife-She is a northern silvan elf who was not known to history but is a very powerful silvan elf from the northern region of Mirkwood

Legolas-Prince of Mirkwood and my brother

One of the Valar-Said to have been one of the 7 that gave birth to Thranduil. Grandfather to Destail
