Description

Physical Description: This stout and broad hobbit is perpetually covered in dust and dirt from his constant travels. When traveling he is commonly seen in a patched brown traveler's robe and a tattered green hood. The seemly endless conflict with the Enemy has taught him a diverse collection of combat abilities. While he sometimes is seen carrying a dented and battle-worn shield, he has of late, taken up the art of the bow. More often these days, he travels in a coat of light, interlocking mail with a finely crafted bow slung over his shoulder. Only when the need is most dire does he take up heavy arms and armor.

Personality Description: While he was once and eager and excitable hobbit, the toil of war has darkened his demeanor. He no longer feels at home among his own people and often calls them "foolish" or "simple." His dour demeanor and unyielding dedication to the War of the Ring often creates a persona of grim obsession. His friends often have to remind him of the good in the world, lest he become obsessed with his own dark thoughts. It is only then that he is able to recall his true nature and enjoy a rare moment of laughter, cheer, and a fine meal.

Bio

Born to Dinodas Brandybuck and Lavender Took in Buckland but raised in Michel Delving, Bandoras spent most of his childhood wanting for nothing, with a particular fondness for wandering the roads of the shire under the evening stars. It wasn't until a fateful evening that he found himself suddenly swept up into what would become known in later days as the War of the Ring.

After he found himself suddenly assisting a pair of lost hobbits and cowering before the black cowls of the Nazgul, a new courage was found in this young hobbit who had only a few years ago left his tweens. In spite of the fear and doubt he felt that night, he knew in his heart that he must protect the joys and beauty of the Shire. after the burning of Archet, he returned to the shire and informed his parents that he was giving up his place as an inheritor of the family fortune and joining the bounders to help better protect his homelands.

By the time he had traveled as far west as Rivendell he had fallen into the company of the Children of Arda, and had developed a particular kinship with the kin's Tur, Anariel as well as Lindethiel and Grimdan. It seemed that hope rang true for the little hobbit as long as he had these new and exotic friends by his side. Then, Anariel was vanished and Bandoras suddenly found himself left to lead the kin. This burden weighs heavy upon his shoulders and he fears that a tiny hobbit can only do so much in the world.

In the passing months Bandoras has seen his choice as an adventurer beyond the borders of the Shire reap great and terrible rewards. He a young hobbit whom he fell deeply in love with - Yucca Bracegirdle. The two of them married very soon after a rather awkward courtship. In addition, his younger siblings Seradoc and Lithodora (under the pseudo-name Lilium) have followed in his footsteps and taken to a life of exploration and adventure.

During an attack on Tuckborough tragedy struck. His in-laws fell to the savagery of the Black Arrow Tribe of orcs and uruks. Since that time, he has become grim and focused, systemically hunting down those who have brought such terrible sorrow and loss to his wife.

In his own reckless pursuit of the Black Arrow orc tribe, Bandoras pursued these servants of the Enemy all the way to Angmar before being betrayed to the enemy by his rival turned enemy Thraindan Longbeard. While being held hostage by the servants of Shadow residing in Carn Dum, Bandoras endured several weeks of torture and was, on at least one occassion, forced to communicate with the Great Eye itself. This experience changed him forever.

He was no longer the jovial hobbit his wife had fallen in love with and their marriage soon crumbled. Believing he had nothing left to fight for and regarded as a pariah by his own people he took to traveling alone across Eriador and recklessly dispatching any servant of the Enemy that he found. He came to believe that his friends had grown idle in their dedication to the war and pushed them further away, often blaming them for the terrible state of the world.

During this time he went about hooded, masked and cloaked under the name "Trodder" in the belief that if he removed himself from all he feared to lose that he would become a fiercer, more effective warrior against the Enemy. After long solitude and deep councils with friend and mentor Feorsyer Elkhelm, Bandoras is slowly trying to reconnet and remember the good in the world and what is worth fighting for - still, the deep sense of failure and loss weigh heavily upon him and his prone to fits of ennui and self-absorbed ranting.

Gossip

Since leaving the Shire and being drawn into the War with the Enemy, Bandoras has lost the love of gossip common to those of his race. However, his struggles against the Enemy and his study of the elder days have lead him to develop a love of poetry and lore. He has penned several poems and ballads that he is quite proud of. However, during one of the readings of "The Shirelings of Fornost" the audience fell asleep, much to the hobbit's ire.

In addition, Bandoras apparently has a great fear of bears. He will not explain the details of what lead him to develop this phobia.

Stumblefoot: Many are curious how Bandoras earned the title of "Stumblefoot." This comes from his uncanny ability to tumble from the edge of any cliff or precipices that he finds, as often by his own free will as by accident. His dear friend, Lindethiel Tindomerel, bestowed this title upon after watching him fall off the same cliff four times in a single hour.

Trodder: Some time ago, Bandoras set aside the shield of defense and took up the bow. Ceaseless war has chanegd him from a defender of the Free-Folk to a battle-weary bowman who will often slay his enemy before they are even aware of his presence by means of a keenly placed shot with a bow of oak or yew. When acting in this fashion, he often goes hooded and cloaked under the name 'Trodder.'
