Naming

I believe the proper naming for the region is Trollshaws, not The Trollshaws. If you open your map and look at the region names - none of them have a "The" in front of their name except for The Shire, so adding one for Trollshaws would be incorrect. I will go ahead and move them. --Fedaykin 10:45, 22 August 2007 (PDT)

Apparently someone moved it back. My gripe with the article is that whomever wrote the geographical information was under the influence of a mind-altering substance, or simply can't tell direction. Trollshaws is nowhere near the Shire or Bree. The Hoarwell forms its WESTERN border, and the Misty Mountains would be an EASTERN impasse. I am changing it to match the facts instead of the original editor's fever-dream. Theodobald 14:26, 21 November 2010 (EST)
Today I moved The Trollshaws to Trollshaws per instructions on the Help:Locations#Naming Locations, it has a map and that is what it reads. I am also in progress of updating everything needed in that region, and have already done a lot of TrollshawsTrollshaws, with "The" retained if it should and with upper/lower case (I might have missed some but hope not). There may be some pages I will not touch, such as "Creature Name (The Trollshaws)" but the rest will get a free massage.
And I think User:Theodobald is wrong, The Trollshaws was most likely (99.999999%) chosen because that is what it reads on the screen as a system message when you enter this region. Not because of any "spice-ish" intake. Because of confusion of which case to choose Help:Locations#Naming Locations now makes that clear. — Zimoon 15:09, 27 November 2021 (UTC)
