Pre-Thrang positioning

While not required, if your party has "non experienced" members, it will make the life easier if the whole party is placed on the "island" on the counterclockwise side of the stairs (your left side if you face the stairs, your right side if you are on the stairs facing the arena). But give some room for the MT/Elmyr and respective healer. This gives range for the crowd controller(s) and the off tank can wait for the mobs, helping to diminish the "confusion" of having mobs in the middle of the raid.

Then, on the fourth wave, DPS down the second summoner to about 2k or so and then have the LM mezz him (do not do any DOT on him) on the bottom of the stairs. Then move all the party to that island and prepare for Thrang entry.

As I've not managed to kill Thrang yet, I won't do further comments on how to deal with him, but a small warning: the shammans are immune to stuns (so no easy way out).

Sounds good, the paragraph on dealing with the adds on the strategy is rather short and vague. Go ahead and add it in. :)
When I get around to it I will be re-working the Thrang part of the strategy entirely, because there is a way to take down the shamans that makes that part a piece of cake. --Fedaykin 12:20, 2 January 2008 (PST)
We're using the 'one group hide in each alcove with 2 Shamen, & ignore Thrang' method at the moment - works better than the other strats we've tried; although Thrang then aggros on one of the minstrels when the Shamen go down.
I'm implementing this strategy very soon. --Fedaykin 15:44, 24 March 2008 (PDT)
I was with a group that beat him last night using this method, so I wanted to add my input. If there are 2 LM's in the group, for the shaman fight there should be one on the DPS side and one on the tank side, to give leeches, power, debuffs, and backup heals to both groups. If there are 2 captains, one can also join the tank side for banner and rez if needed. MysterX 11:25, 25 March 2008 (PDT)
Good that you bring it up, we actually do that sometimes too but I forgot to add it in. I'm glad you beat Thrang though, and let me know how the Thaurlach encounter goes for you! It was quite a bit of work so I might've missed a few things there too. --Fedaykin 17:00, 25 March 2008 (PDT)

LM Inspection
The previous inspection appears to show Thrang in his invulnerable state, but with a fire debuff applied. I've uploaded a version from when he is vulnerable as I think that is probably more useful. DancesInTrees 01:23, 28 January 2008 (PST)
