Talk:Jeweller Westfold Recipe Index

Is there some means to request a page rename? Or should I simply create a copy with the corrected name? For instance, the Westfold Dunlending Ring's image doesn't comply with suggested naming practices. It's currently Dunlending Ring-icon.png when it should apparently be Ring 46 (rare)-icon.png (inferred from other jewelry items in the set). I would think renaming the existing page is the best practice, since it would retain usage info/page hits/etc and assuming bots would update the cross links. A similar need to rename pages occurs with the Recipes and the Items. Just seems like renaming is easier than creating a duplicate and propagating the changes manually. -- Squirmier (talk) 20:35, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

Good question! If you're using the default Vector skin, you should have a little drop-down arrow just to the left of the search bar - hover over that and you'll see the option to move a page. Feel free to go ahead and do so with the image file in question; it won't automatically update all the links, but will create a "redirect" so that links will ultimately end up in the right place. Cleaning up redirects is usually something that needs to be done manually and generally needs an administrator on hand to delete the old page name once the links are updated, but it's not a great big horrible thing that messes with the wiki or anythingl. :) Sethladan 01:25, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
