Talk:Elder Morvul-guard

I found this in the category: mobs needing a location. I opened it up and the location info was in the wrong place in the template. I moved it from alignment into location, so now the thing shows up as having a location. However, it seems to me that the location should be general, ie Moria, and the specific location should be left to the text under the box template (ie, it's in fanged pit in durin's way).

So specifically I'm asking: should the template carry the large general map area or a smaller one? also wondering, should it say "in fanged pit in durin's way in moria" or does "durin's way" give enough detail that the moria bit is not needed? Thanks guys. -Adelas (talk) 04:17, 8 September 2011 (EDT)

Your suspicions were correct: the location was filled in incorrectly. Location should be filled in with the region, as you find them on the maps. So Bree-land, Ered Luin, The Trollshaws etc. Moria is a special case. Since it's so huge and has so many maps we count those maps as regions (e.g. Zelem-melek, The Great Delving, The Water-works etc). The correct Location in the template for the Elder Morvul-guard thus is Durin's Way.
I'd say "inside The Fanged Pit in Durin's Way" is sufficient; you don't say "in the Old Forest in Bree-land in Eriador" either.
For standards regarding normal landscape creatures, Help:Creatures is up to date. :) --Ravanel (talk) 07:24, 8 September 2011 (EDT)
