Walkthrough & Notes

This quest counts for the Aiding the Entwash Vale deed. Completing Aiding the Eastemnet will cancel this quest This is an instanced public questing area. The black powder quest item is located just to the right as you enter the main cavern from the instance spawn portal. Before picking up a keg clear any nearby mobs especially to your right ( west) as you can not fight while carrying them. You can right click on the progress bar while carrying a keg to drop it if needed. Interact with the kegs to pick one up then go to the right and head directly right up to the wooden palisade fence facing you which should trigger the quest completion. If not you need to clear more and take it down to the lower area. To leave the instance either return to the instance entrance portal (a Door at the end of the tunnel you arrived in). Or use the 'Leave Instance' feature (right click the character portrait) which is easier generally in these tunnels.

Quest Text

Bestowal dialogue 'Goblins are clever creatures, dastardly in their approaches to war and the battlefield. Unlike the Orcs who walk about within the forest itself, the goblins have taken to the caves and are destroying the forest from below with their sorcerous black powder. 'The goblins plant the barrels, then the soil explodes out and the trees fall into the tunnels below. They are then dragged to feed the Enemy's war-machine. The forest cannot defend itself from this destruction. 'Head into The Living Deep, find the black powder, drag it to a safe place and destroy it.' Background The goblins in the Living Deep use barrels of black powder to destroy the forest from below. Objective 1 Bring powder-kegs tothe central pit of the Living Deep (0/1) Powder-kegs can be found within the Living Deep. Dernstan asked you to venture within the Living Deep and safely destroy the enemy's black powder. Dernstan: 'Let me know when you are ready to venture beneath the forest and enter the Living Deep.' Enter the Public Instance: The Living Deep Objective 2 Talk to Dernstan Dernstan is at Eaworth. Dernstan will be pleased to hear you have safely destroyed several barrels of black powder. Dernstan: 'More black powder will come, but any effort to slow the Enemy's advance is a victory for us.'
